Intumescent Euroquímica Stofire
Description
DESCRIPTION
Progressive Intumescence Firewall Coating.
Its specific mission is to delay the destructive action of a fire. It reacts in the presence and
contact of the flame, swelling, forming a multicellular insulation, with extinguishing action.
Prolongs the stability of structures and construction elements subjected to the high
temperatures of a fire.
FIELD OF APPLICATION
Fire protection of all types of structural steel elements.
Due to its special characteristics, it is used in the passive protection against fire of
structural elements of buildings, both private and for public use (homes, apartments, offices,
hotels, hospitals, schools, supermarkets, shows, stairs, etc.), complying with the
requirements of the Technical Building Code.
In the habitat areas of a ship.
Its use is especially important for passive protection against fire in industry in
general (industrial warehouses, supports, warehouses, silos, etc.), complying with the requirements of the
Fire Safety Regulations in Industrial establishments.
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS (White 90 color)
Color: White 90, Gray 994.
Finish: Matte.
Specific weight: 1.39 ± 0.1.
Recommended dry thickness: According to official massivity table (from 140μ
to >600μ per layer(*).
% Solids by volume: 62% ± 1%.
Yield per layer (600μ): 1.03 m2./
lt.= 0 .74 m2./
kg.
Drying time to the touch: 2 hours, at 20ºC and 60% RH.
Repaintable: 24 hours, at 20ºC and 60% RH.
Hardening: 5 days, at 20ºC and 60% RH.
Indicated thinner: STF (exclusively)
Application: Brush, roller and airless spray
VOC supply: 360 gr/lt
(*) – It depends on the application system chosen and the geometry of the elements to be protected. You should
avoid applying a thickness that could cause sags and drips due to excess layer.
PRELIMINARY TREATMENT OF SURFACES
Metal surfaces: They must be previously primed with products with high
anti-corrosion capacity, compatible with the intumescent coating and proven to be
fire-retardant in nature, such as HK-2-E, ST-28, TAC PRIMER, etc.
Non-metallic surfaces: On wood, plaster, cement, etc., please consult our
APPLICATION METHOD
Thoroughly homogenize the contents of the container, preferably with a mechanical stirrer. The product
is served ready for use. To facilitate its application with an airless spray, it can be diluted with a
maximum of 10% STF. Do not use other solvents.
Brush: Only for touch-ups and small areas. Apply without diluting.
Roller: Apply without diluting. Use long hair wool rollers.
Airbrush gun: Pressure boiler.
Dilute with 5 to 15% STF.
Pressure, 4 Kgs/cm2
. Nozzles 2.6 to 2.8 mm. ∅
Airless gun (*): Dilute with 0 to 10% STF.
Equipment capable of providing a free flow greater than 5.8 liters/min., with
maintained pressure greater than 120 Kgs/cm2.
Nozzles 0.025 to 0.031”.
Adjust the angle of the nozzle to the size of the profiles to be coated.
The STOFIRE system must be used indoors, protected from humidity, weather, condensation
, etc. In interior environments, with moderate environmental aggression,
the application of one or two coats of REXMALT finish is highly recommended.
In outdoor elements or in aggressive environmental conditions, it is necessary to completely seal the
surface with EUROPOL (Consult our Technical Department).
The STOFIRE system should not be applied when the environmental conditions of the element to be protected
are not adequate: Temperatures below 10ºC, humidity above 80%,
condensation conditions at any ambient temperature and humidity, or support temperature not higher
than 3ºC. of the dew point.
(*)Pneumatic guns type WIWA models 1132 and 4432.
Electric or gasoline guns, type AIRLESSCO, models 6100 and 9100.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE DRY FILM
It reacts in contact with the flame or high temperatures, swelling and forming a
multicellular foam with high insulating capacity.
Non-flammable. Once its work is done, it calcines without producing or communicating the flame.
FIRE CLASSIFICATION TESTS
* Fire resistance tests between 15 and 120 minutes in a loaded oven according to European test
UNE-ENV 13381-4:2005. Certified according to UNE-EN 13501-2:2004.
* Complies with UNE 48287-1 standard.
PRECAUTIONS
The application must be carried out with abundant supply of air or with ventilation systems prepared for this purpose.
The usual personal protection elements must be used to avoid ingestion, inhalation or
contact with the skin. Normal fire precautions must be taken during application.
Keep containers tightly closed after use. Do not throw waste into the drain.
Storage stability: 1 year in its original closed containers and in good
storage conditions.
